IMMIGRATION PATHWAY

Study Permits & Post-Graduation Work Permits

From acceptance letter to permanent residency — your complete education-to-immigration pathway in Canada starts here.

Study Permit Essentials

A study permit allows international students to attend a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada. Key requirements include: • Letter of acceptance from a DLI • Proof of financial support (tuition + living expenses) • Clean criminal record and medical examination • Genuine intention to study (critical — many refusals hinge on this) I help students craft compelling study plans that demonstrate genuine intent, financial preparedness, and strong ties to their home country.

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

After graduating from an eligible Canadian program, you may qualify for an open work permit lasting up to 3 years. • Programs of 8 months to 2 years → PGWP equal to program length • Programs of 2+ years → 3-year PGWP The PGWP is your bridge to permanent residency through the Canadian Experience Class or provincial nomination. I advise students on program selection with PR eligibility in mind from day one.

Student Direct Stream (SDS)

If you're from an SDS-eligible country (India, China, Philippines, and others), you can access faster study permit processing — often within 20 days. SDS requires a GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate) of $20,635 and proof of language proficiency. I handle the setup and documentation to ensure you qualify.

Education-to-PR Strategy

1. Program Selection — I advise on programs that maximize PGWP eligibility and CRS points 2. Study Permit Application — Comprehensive application with strong study plan and financials 3. PGWP Planning — I prepare your PGWP application before your final semester 4. Canadian Experience — I advise on gaining NOC-eligible work experience during and after studies 5. Express Entry or PNP — I transition you to the PR pathway best suited to your profile
